The DMA is headquartered in Madison, with locations at Truax Field, Madison; Mitchell Field, Milwaukee; the Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center and the U.S. Property and Fiscal Office, Camp Williams, both located at Camp Douglas; and the Wisconsin Military Academy and the Wisconsin National Guard ChalleNGe Academy, both located at Fort McCoy. There are 60+ armories located in various cities of the state, as well as six Emergency Management regional offices and other military facilities scattered across the state.

Blue Collar positions within DMA include facilities repair worker, maintenance mechanic, shipping and mailing clerk, and storekeeper. Office Support positions within DMA, which require testing at the OSER exam centers, include program assistant and secretary. The Office Support examination is offered every month. By taking only one exam, an individual can be placed on multiple employment registers for different job titles. An applicant may take this exam once every six months.
