Brigadier General Joseph J. Brandemuehl served as the Commander of the 115th Fighter Wing, Truax Field, Madison, Wis. He was responsible for the organization, training and equipping of nearly 1,200 active Guard and traditional forces serving the dual mission of state and federal responsibility falling under the Governor of Wisconsin and President of the United States.
Brig Gen Brandemuehl received his commission in 1985 after graduating from the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science. He was a command pilot with more than 3,200 flying hours, of which more than 2,000 are in the F-18C/D. In addition to his command duties, Brig Gen Brademuehl also served on the Air National F-16 Fighter Weapon Systems Council and was a member of the Air Directorate Field Advisory Council.
He was inducted into the Wisconsin Air National Guard Hall of Fame January 2016.
